White Vinegar and Citrus Peel Cleaner

It's nice to know you can clean your house and spritz your salad greens at the same time.

Here's a great recipe to spice up your regular 'white vinegar' cleaning routine.  I've been using vinegar for windows, laundry, and toilets for awhile.  You can add a bit of citrus rinds to the cleanser to add to the antibacterial qualities.

Fill a large, wide mouth jar with citrus peels (such as lemons, oranges, limes, grapefruits). Cover the peels with white household vinegar and let brew for four weeks.  You may shake the jar occasionally to mix it up.  Once the brew is ready, you can strain and pour into a glass spray bottle.

Chop up the peel of a large citrus fruit. Combine it with 4 cups water and bring it to a boil in a saucepan. Allow it to cool until it is warm. Stir in 6 tbsp. vinegar and 3 tsp. borax. Mix well and pour the mixture into a spray bottle. Shake before use to mix the liquids. Spray hard surfaces with the cleaner and wipe clean.  You can 9 other Homemade Cleaners in her article here.

I like to collect my peels from the rinds of what I juice.
